Colour Swatch by Nicole Graham

I created a colour inspiration journal to note interesting colour combinations and how to match favourite patterned papers. I also created a colour swatch to hang from the side of my journal that details certain colours and what they represent to me.

Within the book I have made sections using ribbon and tabs where I can note down inspiration according to the colours that I use.

I have been amazed by the beautiful work in the gallery lately and have decided to revamp the QUICK BIT at the beginning of the newsletter to spotlight a layout from a BBer in the gallery.  Thanks for sharing your beautiful page with us Claire!

The end of another month is here so most of our challenges are closing early next week.  The artistic avatar challenge has really brightened up the board this month.  I love seeing all of the monograms that everyone has made.  I have also enjoyed seeing the Fathers Day cards that have been popping up in the Amazing Race competition.

We have a few things coming up in the next few months, including a holiday in September for a much needed break. We will let you know closer to the time, the important dates to remember regarding last orders being mailed out and closing and opening dates.

Just a reminder that this weekend we are having an informal gathering on the message board over the weekend for any one who wants to create for fun.  We will set a thread up on the message board where you can check in.  It is an informal gathering where the focus is on time for ourselves and our passion for scrapbooking, arts and crafts.  I hope to check in Friday night and at various points over the weekend. Check in whenever you can and let us know what you are creating just for YOU!

Monthly Challenge:

 

The AUGUST CHALLENGE is Artistic Avatar Monograms.  The challenge is to get creative and create a monogram...as artistically as you can and upload it as your avatar on the message board.

 

We hope to see lots of entries this month so the message board becomes a colourful display of artistic monograms.

Designing With Calendar Challenge:

 

The new challenges for August are now on the message board. Remember you do not have to own a Designing With Calendar to participate in the challenges as we have set alternative challenges for anyone to complete.

 

The August Alternatives are:

1. use a sticker to create a negative impression within a stamped image.

2. Match patterned paper to your subjects clothing.

3. Use string envelopes to hold letters of journalling.

4. Use a hole punch to make an interesting background.
