Our Celebrated Scrapper for February, Lisavc takes the most amazing photos and I could not resist highlighting one of her most recent ones in the gallery. Just stunning! We are still plugging away at SALE orders and the sad news is I think my newsletter next week will have the same comment. I posted a message on the message board on Monday saying we had about 220 orders to get through. Well the number is not that much different some days later. As quick as we clear them, another batch comes rolling in. This week is the week we introduce our next International Scrapper and this month is it someone we know so well already. Stock has begun to arrive in the store from CHA. This week we received the new Chatterbox papers just released. As expected they are all beautiful and co-ordinate perfectly. Back to orders for me…. Thank you! Luise |

This month our INTERNATIONAL SCRAPPER is Trina McClune. We asked Trina a few questions which you can read below: |
|
Where are you from? Auckland, New Zealand. Tell us a little about yourself and your hometown. I am a stay at home mum to 2 year old twins with another baby due in August. I have been married to Andy for 4 years and am really lucky he’s very tolerant with my scrapping! Auckland is nicknamed the city of sails as it’s a harbour city and over summer most people live at the beach or on the water (actually even over winter). We’re lucky to live a short walk to one of the main Auckland beaches and spend time there every week. Auckland is NZ’s largest city but is still very small compared to other international cities. I remember returning home after an overseas trip thinking it felt like a ghost town. It’s a great place to bring up kids though! When did you begin Scrapbooking and how were you introduced? I began scrabooking just over 2 years ago. I had always done ‘fancy’ photo albums with cut out photos or enlargements etc. My mother in law told me about a shop fairly close by and that was the beginning of my addiction. What part of Scrapbooking do you love the most? When I’ve finished a page, stand back and go yep, that’s it! Is Scrapbooking popular in your country? When I started it was relatively new in NZ, but it has grown enormously and now people actually understand what Scrapbooking is when I mention it. What is your favourite layout and why? It’s usually the one I’ve just completed because I may have tried something new or used a product that I really liked. What type of camera do you have? I’ve got the Canon 300D (or Rebel). It’s digital and I love it. If you could have share a meal with 5 people, who would they be? Hmmmm? Without sounding too clichéd, I’d really love to have lunch with Oprah Winfrey—just love what she does, Nelson Mandela—to learn how he thinks and forgives, Robert Kiyosaki—to gain more financial knowledge, God—for obvious reason, and someone who invented something really out there like electricity or the phone—to find out what made them think of it. How did they keep going when things didn’t happen right? Below are some of Trina’s layouts to share. Trina will also be featured on our portal tomorrow. |

Monthly Challenge: The FEBRUARY CHALLENGE is to complete a layout or project focused on a funny story. You may or may not already have photos to help tell that story. Some stories just have to be told. They might detail the personality of yourself or someone special in your family. It may be a situation that only your family can see the humour in. This is inspiration to add laughs and humour to your albums! Upload your challenge to the CHALLENGE GALLERY. Closing date is 28 February. |

Designing With Calendar Challenge: The new challenges for February are now on the message board. Remember you do not have to own a Designing With Calendar to participate in the challenges as we have set alternative challenges for anyone to complete. The February Alternatives are: 1. Take the button challenge! Dig them out and stamp/sew/use them on a layout. 2. Dig out your punches and try new ways to use them like creating embossed accents. 3. Showcase your favourite things in a mini book or layout. 4. Create a background using 4 bold colours in equal parts. To read more on the challenge, visit the Message Board under CHALLENGES/COMPETITIONS. Closing date is 28 February. |
