Welcome to November and a brand new month! That means a bumper newsletter this issue with our Celebrated Scrapper, monthly article and announcement of our new monthly challenge. The never ending customs saga continues with our Li’l Davis and Scrapworks orders still being held. We did however receive some much needed restocks with the Bazzill Swatchbox and KI Memories Alphabet Soup. For everyone who has inquired about the American Crafts album page protector refills, we have been told that these will be available from the end of November. I hope you enjoy the article on working with BasicGrey lunchpails. What I originally thought would be a time consuming project, actually only took me 20 minutes to complete…..ok the inside is empty! My lunchpail was also a great excuse to purge my ribbon stash and finally put it to good use! The fantastic news this week is the beans have finally returned!! Thank you to everyone on the message board who bought them home. Pictures are below. The were spoilt rotten while visiting Heidi’s place and she has beautifully completed their travel journals. You can read more of Heidi’s entries in the gallery. Finally, I hope everyone has a fantastic time at ISC and enjoys the classes given by Max and Kate from the BB design team. Until next week, keep creative! Luise P.S—November Crossword is on the site now! |

They can be in the patterned paper, photo or an embellishment, just as long as the page includes flowers in some form. If you need some inspiration, Nicole has created a great example to the right.. To read more on the challenge, visit the Message Board under CHALLENGES. Closing date 30 November. |

This month our CELEBRATED SCRAPPER is Debbie Bray aka doreabledebbie2005. Debbie joined BB in January 2005. We asked Debbie a few questions which you can read below: |
You can view more of Debbie’s work in the Blue Bazaar gallery under the username doreabledebbie2005 |
When did you begin scrapping and how were you introduced. When and how did you find BB? What part of Scrapbooking do you love the most? |
What is your favourite Scrapbooking book? How do you organise your albums? What would be your advice to a new Scrapbooker? |
Share your favourite layout. Why is it your favourite layout? |
How often do you scrapbook? What 3 scrap related items would you take on a desert island? Brand of patterned paper featured predominantly on your layouts. What type of camera do you use? If you could have lunch with 5 people who would they be? Who would you class as your scrapping goddess? (Bonus question Debbie asked herself!) |

I just adore mini albums and this lunch pail from BasicGrey is no exception. I love how you are able to convey a complete story within the pages of a mini album and how each page tells it’s own story but also builds on the theme as you go through it. It is like many small layouts all packed into one special small album that is completed in a short amount of time and then the story is fully told and finished. My Lunch Pail is not going to be finished overnight instead it is a themed work in progress that I hope to be able to add too for many years to come. I love Christmas and everything that goes with it and decided to dedicate this tin to my memories of Christmas and why it is important to my Family and me. It is divided into sections with a space for each of the children our family our Christmas tree and also the few traditions that have become part of our Christmas celebrations. |

I have always found the secret to a truly beautiful mini album is to keep it simple. I have found it best to stick to a few colours in papers and embellishments that flow on each page through the entire album to tie it all together. I approach each page as a separate layout keeping the colours and theme in mind when I do it. Black and white photos also work well in small albums as the eye is drawn to the photo without multiple colours overpowering the page. Most major scrapping companies make an entire range of products that co-ordinate. If you struggle with how to mix products together, then just pick a range that you like and take it from there. I used green as the dominant colour for my lunch pail but added a small amount of red onto each page to give the pages some pop. The small dashes of red colour also tie each page to the next. Ribbons are great to add a rich luxurious feel to the pages. They help carry the theme to the following pages as they often overlap the edges and can be seen from both sides of the page. |
The contents of the lunch pail include 6 dividers, 12 mini pages and 18 matching page protectors. The little mini page protectors are perfect for the children’s letters to Santa as I was able to scrap a small page about them but also into the back of the protector sleeve pop in a copy of the letter and also the reply from Santa…yes he does write back if you post it to Australia post. I have also put in lists of what they did get and will scrap a photo of each of them with their presents and put that into that area too. |
The easiest way I have found to make mini album is to make the complete layout on a separate sheet of paper/cardstock and then use double sided tape and mount it onto the pages that form part of your album. This allows brads ribbon and all sorts of things to be used and fastened to the pages without it marking or affecting the pages behind. To attach paper to the lunch pail, I have used double sided tape along the length top and bottom . The embellishments have been adhered using Pritt power glue gel, which is great for adheringwith metal items. I do hope that I have been able to offer you a little inspiration to start on some mini albums as they are so rewarding and with Christmas just round the corner they make a wonderful gift, just ask my Mum. Happy Scrapping Linda |
