Mixed Media Challenge : Month 5 (September)
The Mixed Media Challenge for the month of September is to use Texture Paste in a project.
I use the Jo Sonja's brand of Texture Paste. Here is a little of the blurb on the jar:
"A translucent white paste for exaggerated structure and texture, creating three dimensional effects. It's thick consistency dries to a very hard matte finish.
This medium may be applied directly from the jar then overpainted when dry, or mixed with JS Artists' Colors to produce a coloured, textured ground, It may also be mixed directly into your palette colours for more textured strokes, e.g. teddy bear fur.
Unusual textures may be produced by using old brushes, icing bags with different nozzles, sponges, combs or palette knives.
A faux carved look may be achieved by applying Texture Paste through a stencil with a palette knife onto a flat surface."
Texture Paste is inexpensive and can be purchased from any shop that stocks Jo Sonja's paint products.
New participants may join the Mixed Media Challenge series at any time. Please join us as we play with texture paste!!
Have fun!!

| Hi Coby, Can I have an alternative? I don't have any texture paste and can't get it here. I thought really thick white paint with a bit of sand and glue. |

| I have a jar of Chromacryl impasto gel medium - could that be used as an alternative to texture paste? |

Is it too late to join in on this?
I have textured paste (love the stuff) but I would like to do some stuff using the other mixed media items.
